Forest Bathing

Here in the Chilterns we're super lucky to have some amazing forests and woodlands that we can walk in and wonder for hours. The World Economic Forum have researched the scientific impact of spending time in nature with trees. In Japan this is called Forest Bathing.

 

The scientifically-proven benefits of Forest Bathing include:

  • Boosted immune system functioning, with an increase in the count of the body's Natural Killer (NK) cells.

  • Reduced blood pressure

  • Reduced stress

  • Improved mood

  • Increased ability to focus, even in children with ADHD

  • Accelerated recovery from surgery or illness

  • Increased energy level

  • Improved sleep

 

I must admit Wendover Woods is one of my top favourites. I invite you to take a trip to your local forest or woodlands and give Forest Bathing a go!
